Josan Hatero was born in Barcelona in 1970. He has been writing since he was a teenager, but it was not until 1996 that he published his first book of short stories: Biografía de la huida. This was followed by several works of fiction published as Josan Mosteiro in homage to his mother. He has also published several juvenile novels under a pseudonym and in 2011 he won the Young Readers' Award for Volverán a por mí, written with Use Lahoz. He is also a translator, scriptwriter and teaches creative writing classes.
