Alcántara Sgarbí, Ricardo

He was born in Montevideo (Uruguay) in 1946, but has lived in Barcelona for years. He has studied Psychology, but has always dedicated himself to writing stories and novels for children. Since 1973, when his story Guaraçu received an honorable mention in the Brazilian “Gobernador do Estado” award and the Critics' award of the magazine “Serra d'Or”, his work has been continually awarded. In 1987, for example, he received the Lazarillo award for the work A Tale Big as a House, and several of his works have been included in the CCEI honor lists.
