Biography
Steinmeyer, Petra

Petra Steinmeyer was born in Buenos Aires in 1953, where she trained in Fine Arts. She lived almost all of her life in Barcelona and illustrated numerous children's and youth books for Spanish and Argentine publishers. She is also dedicated to animated cinema with her husband, having collaborated with children's programs on RTVE and TV3 of Catalonia, and producing her own series such as CAPELITO, a plasticine mushroom for preschool audiences that has received many international awards. She has been a tutor and trainer of animation projects at the INCAA (National Film Institute of Argentina) and created the ALBUM WORKSHOP, from where she accompanies and advises online the creative development of illustrated book projects. She currently lives with one foot on each shore of the Atlantic and writes and illustrates her own texts.
