We don't know exactly when Miguel de Cervantes began to write Don Quixote, although it is likely it was written in 1597 while in prison in Seville. To create his work, Cervantes drew from many sources of inspiration, such as short and anonymous plays and epic poems. In this book many short stories will tell the adventures and quests of Don Quixote.
