XAN LÓPEZ DOMÍNGUEZ was born in Lugo in 1957. He has a degree in Art History from the University of Santiago de Compostela. In the professional field, he combines his three passions: writing, design and illustration of children's literature. In his long career he has illustrated more than three hundred books for national and foreign publishers. His work has been worthy of different awards, such as the CCEI for best illustrator; He is also the best illustrator at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, in addition to having been selected by the prestigious White Ravens list of the Munich Library. Likewise, he has received recognition from the Germán Sánchez Ruipérez Foundation, a specialist in children's literature, and has been chosen by the IBBY as a candidate for the Andersen and Astrid Lindgren awards.
