La vida es sueño, "comedia famosa de don Pedro Calderón de la Barca" published in 1636, is one of the capital works of universal theatre because of the great richness of its ideas and the beauty of its words. None of its verses can be changed or adapted because in them lies its majesty and beauty, but they are often not easy to understand due to the obscurity of their creator's baroque expression. For this reason, the edition of the work is offered with intercalated commentaries that are not a gloss on the text, but rather an explanation of the obscure places that appear in it. If the mists of incomprehension or doubt dissipate when reading it, one can fully enjoy what Life is a Dream tells us so intensely.
