Blanca Álvarez
(Cartavio, 1960) has a degree in Spanish Literature, in Social Work and she has also studied Law. Nowadays, she combines journalism with her literary career. Her first literary award was in poetry: "Premio Internacional de Poesía Cálamo". She used to write adult fiction until she wrote a Young-adult fiction and enjoyed herself so much that she stuck to it. In 2001 she achieved a White Ravens, in 2003 and again in 2004 the Premio de la Crítica de Asturias, then she won the XIII Premio Ala Delta, and in 2005, she obtained the Premio Apel·les Mestres.
