David Nel·lo Colom (Barcelona, 1959) published his first book, L'Albert i els menjabrossa, in 1994. Since then he has written more than forty titles for young and older readers. His literary merits have been recognised with numerous awards, including the Edebé Award for Children's Literature for the novels La nueva vida del señor Rutin (2014) and La crónica de Ivo Cukar (2020), the Premi Prudenci Bertrana for novels (2017) and the Premi Sant Jordi for novels (2019). Many of his works are set in other countries, the result of his stays abroad, and have been translated into different languages. He currently lives in Barcelona, where he continues writing and translating.
