Juan Madrid
Juan Madrid. Born in Malaga in 1947, he is one of the best examples of European urban thriller writers. A journalist and screenwriter, Juan Madrid undertook several jobs before becoming a journalist in 1973. He graduated in Contemporary History at the University of Salamanca, and has worked as an editor at various Spanish magazines, in addition to writing numerous reports in other international media.
In the literary field he has published over 40 books, including novels, a collection of stories in children's literature, and his works have been translated into 16 languages.
He teaches at various prestigious institutions in Spain, France, Italy, Argentina and Cuba, among them the International School of Cinema and Television of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba and Fuentetaja Writing Workshop in Madrid.
In 2008 he won the Edebé Juvenile Literature Award with his work Huida al Sur, published in this series.
