Mercedes Neuschäfer-Carlón

Mercedes Neuschäfer-Carlón (Oviedo, 1931) studied Spanish literature in Oviedo and Modern languages in Madrid. She has been living in Berlin for several years now. In 1975 she won the AMADE award (the best children award at the time) for her first work, <<La cabaña abandonada>>, to which around 50 more titles followed. She has become a reference in Spanish children’s literature as well as in Germany, where two of her books have been turned into films.
