Santiago Garcia-Clairac was born in Mont-de-Marsants (France) on July 7th, 1944. After finishing his studies in Advertising, he began to work, as a cartoonist and published his first comics. He also began his successful career as an creative advertiser, field in which he has received different awards and make him entered in the Record Guinness for the most spectacular shooting. He has also been responsible for storyboards for some feature films.

In 1994, he published his first children's book and a year later he was already running-up for the Lazarillo Prize. His work includes children series, and YA fantasy novels.
