Xelís de Toro

Xelís de Toro was the songwriter and singer of the band Os Quinindiolas. He published "Seis cordas e un corazón" (Six strings and a heart) under the pen name of Roque Morteiro, work awarded with the Consorcio de Santiago Prize for crime fiction. In 1990 he won the literature award Ciudad de Lugo for his work "Non hai misericordia" (There is no mercy). Also his work "Os saltimbanquis no paraíso" (Tumblers in paradise) was awarded the 'San Clemente de lectores novos' for the best novel written in Galician. He founded Edicións Positiva and was editor in chief of the magazine Anima+l.
