Elizabeth Builes

The first drawing she remembers was made while her aunt was teaching her to read. She turned the D into a big-bellied man, and the A into a woman in a dress. Since then she spends her days creating images. She studied Arts, and now works in the herbarium at the University of Antioquia, illustrating plants and insects for scientific research. She won the Tragaluz Award for illustration in 2013, and this is her first book. She says she loves to eat red snapper, and wants to get to know the island of the sea of seven colours.
