Manuel Uhía is a painter, illustrator and graphic designer. He studied painting at the Royal Academy of San Fernando and in el Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. He is currently director of image and graphic design at an advertising agency in Madrid and another in Vigo, activity that he alternates with painting. He is also a regular contributor to national publishers as an illustrator of children’s books. He has also exhibited in several cities in Spain, Germany, Mexico and France. Among his awards as an illustrator, we must highlight that he was awarded with the Galix Prize in 2004, the distinction in the White Ravens 2009 and the Frei Sarmiento Award for children’s literature in 2010.
